"The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" is also names "Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Purcell". Henry Purcell was a great English computer from the 1600's. Benjamin Britten wrote this guide in 1947 as a teaching piece that was part of a movie about the orchestra.

 Benjamin Britten was born on November 22, 1913, which is Saint Cecilia's Day (the name day of the patron saint of music). He loved sports, could stand up for himself and was good with his fists. His elder brother Robert remembers having to fight with him to get to the family piano. He had been composing since he was five. At school he continued to compose and took viola lessons. At age 10, be began composition lessons and at 16 he entered the Royal College of Music in London with an full scholarship.
